More about Me

In 2009, I found myself miserable, doing a job I didn't like and living a life that just felt wrong. Someone told me to try a Mindfulness and Meditation course and that started me down a path of complete life change. Just like most life changes, the change part was painfully slow and it wasn't until I completed my Masters in Social Work and finally saw my first client, in 2016, that I knew it was real.

My life experiences, extensive training, and self-led research have shown me that growth and change are possible. But It's not easy, in fact it's hard and messy. Yet everyday I am grounded by my knowledge that this is the human condition (as evidenced by research - the combination of the way our brains work, the social circumstances we grew up in, and our genetics can have a negative impact on our mental health) and all of this messy hard-ness makes sense. And I love that I get to tell people they are not crazy, broken, or a lost cause, because not only does it make sense that they are struggling, but there are also things that can be done about it. So that's why I do what I do and why I am looking forward to meeting you.
